Bohemia Admins Arrested in Ireland, 6.5 Million Euro Seized

Kevin Daniel Andrei

While it hasn’t been announced yet, yesterday we were made aware that this bust is the Bohemia Admins and everything I have been able to verify has checked out, so we are confident enough in making this post.

Concerns now will be whether they still had market data stored after their exit scam, which will now have been seized or will be offered to law enforcement as part of a plea deal, considering they have seized crypto, its very likely they have also been given any remaining market data already.

The more pressing concern for me however, while I don’t want to speculate on anything, is how we have now had 3 separate market admin/teams busted within the space of a few months. This is going to open up a can of worms in terms of conspiracies, but I don’t believe this to be a coincidence unless they have had to sit on information for a long time / chose to and give the appearance of mass de-anonymization, given their “Operation End Game” warning earlier this year.

  1. There are so many things that have to go right flawlessly for a site admin every time to not get caught that I am surprised they last as long as they do. Take SR1. For all the ways he did get caught or speculated how he got caught there are about a dozen other ways he SHOULD have easily got caught. For example, before he even started SR1 Ross told a bunch of his friends about it and told them as he was operating the site. That alone should easily get you busted. Think of how many thousands of lines of code there are and how any one of them can compromise you. Think of all the thousands of crypto transactions that go on and off the site some of which are your own personal ones. Think of the staff you have to keep on to give permissions to who can compromise the site. Think of the THOUSANDS of hours an admin spends connected to the site and all the hundreds of law enforcement jurisdictions around the world who might be trying to get you (and/or Tor nodes). I think it is a daunting task to not get caught as an admin.
